New Apt

So i moved last weekend. Fourth of July weekend. I seem to pick the worst weekends to move. It always happens. And i've moved quite a few times. I plan on taking a video of the apt, but currently the living room (in particular) is destroyed. Boxes everywhere. Shelves aren't put together. etc. You get the picture. But someday you will have a view it. I pretty much loooove this apartment. The living room is set up a little weird w/ the fire place in the place that it is, but i can make it work. I panited in my room. I think the guy gave me the wrong color of paint. Not necessarily a bad color, but the paint sample doesnt really look like the final color. it is a medium plum color. a nice purple. The color scheme for my room is purple, gray, and black. very low key on the black though. i am making a duvet cover for my new (alternative) down comfortable. it's just gonna be white. they are so expensive to buy. like, at least $100. so i am making one, for an affordable $25. i am also making two pillows to incorporate the gray and black. i bought a purple pillow as well. The only furniture i have right now is a bed that i am borrowing, so everything else goes on the floor, including me, when i eat. i have to say that there is something quaint, fun, and exciting about being surrounded by boxes and eating on the floor. why is that? does anyone else ever feel that way? i will probably get tired of it after a while, and be excited when i can save up for furniture, but nevertheless, i am having fun right now. I have a washer and dryer in my apartment. with their own little room. i have a nice big counter space in my bathroom. I have a pantry to put my food in. I have a small little porch, and a storage closet. Oooooooh, and the best news of all...i have a rather large walk in closet. yeah, i love it. all these things make me happy!!

Mobile Uploads

Finally! Finally i figured out how to take the pictures off my phone and put them on the computer. Ya know, it only took me like 8 months to figure out. :) so here are some of the pics i have been taking over the last eight months!

Texas Sky! Wow. I mean, WOW!!! That is a real pic. no photoshop. straight off my phone! Love it!
Me with short curly hair. i love this pic.

This was coming home from New Mexico. This sign was posted a few different times at the rest stop we stopped at. Ummm...scary! i dont want to have to keep my eyes peeled for snakes while i'm peeing! It totally creeped me out.

This is a panoramic view of my current room. it is messy. as you can see.

The Dallas Temple at night. I spend a lot of time at the Dallas Temple. I love it!

Dallas Temple during the daytime. "Look at that sky. Talk about blue." Who knows where that quote comes from?? ;)

More temple. Yeah, I might be obsessed. I dont know.

Me in my car. Most likely stuck in traffic. It happens often. Its ridiculous. But i love this pic.

Myself and Lori. I love love this pic. We look so silly.

Oklahoma sky! It was magical. On my way to Nebraska!

Winter Quarters Temple! Omaha, NE

Dallas Temple at night. I told you i was obsessed!

Lori climbing down from an "ant hill" or something. Ant hill is not right. it is something little insects make. i cant remember what they are called. but we were at the zoo. and she had just been sitting on it!

When i was in IN in december, Trevor and i went to get some Apple Cider. or AC as we call it. This was outside the store. Apparently the AC is the boy in this pic. lol.

And there you have it. Some of my life in Texas.

Lincoln

I went to visit my very favorite Amy in Lincoln, Nebraska. Before i left, when i was telling people that i was going on vacation, they would ask where i was going. I would tell them Nebraska. Every single one of them would give me the strangest look, like "what?! what kind of a vaction spot is that?" but i go where my friends are. even if that takes me to Nebraska (and makes me drive through the dreaded Kansas...ugh!) I went for my birthday weekend. It was nice to get away for a few days and just relax. I got a lot of extra sleep, which was much needed (really! i dont sleep in Texas). We did lots of fun thing (well, fun to us, don't make fun ;) ). We played at the park with her two little girls. Went running. Made bread. Made cobbler (which i left in the oven way too long and practically melted...oops! but still was delicious), skyped with Hannah and Nicole ( i miss you guys). Did yard work. Ran errands. Went to the Winter Quarters Temple in Omaha (actually Florence). Watched New Moon (in fast forward). Played with two of the cutest little girls ever. Went to church. etc. It was a great trip and i was excited to see Amy again. And meet Hanna for the first time.

On our way to the park. Hallie is actually smiling. Yes!

I got Hallie to smile in this picture (i'm not sure how) and once i told Hallie thanks for smiling, she gave me the crustiest look. lol. It was so funny. Hallie is a super happy girl in real life, but she hates to smile for pictures. Not sure why.
Hallie and Hallie's Al (that's what she calls me)

Amy and I at the Temple!

Hanna. This is a classic face. I seriously laugh everytime i see this picture. Every time!

Credit

I can't believe it's been over a month since i have blogged! sorry guys! i have been super busy. I check my email every now and then. and respond on occasion. but that is about the extent of my free time on the computer.

Some exciting news...i paid off all my credit cards!!! yeah, i did. its been like 4 years w/ that stupid credit card debt! so, yea for me. i kind of wanted to celebrate and buy myself something but decided against it, realizing that is part of the reason i had credit card debt in the first place. i feel like i have graduated into being an adult now. well, just a little bit. i can finally start saving money! i'm stoked! oh...and it was on my new year's resolution list to pay off my credit cards! i think i have checked off 3 things on that list so far for the year. usually i am really bad about new year's resolutions, but i am doing good so far. only like 6 more to go.

Catchin' Up

I went on a date a few weeks ago and i have been meaning to put up pictures, but i just hadn't gotten around to it. It was a triple date with my friends Lori and Alex. My date was Charley. Lori's date was Sev, and Alex's date was Buddy. We went out to eat at a fabulous little restuarant named Mi Concina's, in downtown Fort Worth with amazing Mexican food. Then we hung out in Barnes & Noble for a while. We looked at books. Played on the esclator, and played a few silly games while waiting. We were actually being kind of a little loud because we were laughing so much, but *shrug* it's not a library. Then we went to a comedy club named "Four Day Weekend." It was pretty funny. Overall I had a really good time. :)

New Mexico, Part III: Pond Skimming

On the last day of our ski trip they had a event at Sipapu called Pond Skimming. They basically dig a huge hole at the bottom of one of the trails and fill it with water. Then they have skiers/snowboarders come down the mountain and try to skim across it. You may be asking yourself why people would do this. I mean the water is very cold. Actually there was snow and ice floating in the water from time to time, if that gives you any indication. And on top of that most of them went without shirts or in shorts, or in one case with a teal leotard and hot pink wig on. Yep that's right. People are crazy. Most made it all the way across and back out the other side without going in. A few didn't though, and in one case i got very wet videoing.
